Early Learning Standards

Elementary Standards

This school year, we will continue to provide teachers and students with new levels of rigor and challenge as they engage with more demanding texts, increased amounts of nonfiction reading, and greater depth of math standards. The Common Core State Standards and supporting documents are available online at www.corestandards.org. The District of Columbia Public Schools Standards are available online at www.dcps.dc.gov.

Creative Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum designed to help educators at all levels of experience plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Eureka Math

Eureka Math is kindergarten through 5th. Eureka is a Common Core-aligned set of resources that will help your child develop problem solving skills and mathematical fluency.

Second Step

The Second Step curriculum combines social-emotional learning, bullying prevention, and child protection curriculum and training for safe, supportive schools.

Arts Integration

As an arts-integrated school, we infuse fine arts and performing arts as primary pathways to learning.

Turnaround Arts: DC is managed by District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), which consists of more than 49,000 students and 3,600 teachers and staff in the nation’s capital. Committed to serving all students, DCPS’s mission is to ensure that every school guarantees that students reach their full potential through rigorous and joyful learning experiences in a nurturing environment.
